Project Description
Torpedo Juice was approached by the owner of Taywell in Autumn '09, initially to help develop the brand for their premium ice cream. At the time, plans were mooted that the owner was looking for premises to open a Farm Produce store in Tunbridge Wells and that any brand created should also suggest service and traditional retail values.
Taywell and Torpedo Juice work well together, not least, because of their common ethical business values.
In addition to creating a logo, which works well for both the ice cream operation and the retail brand, Torpedo Juice researched and sourced an eco ice cream tub, with integral lid. Happily, for the client, this also resulted in a substantial saving on cost of previous pots (with separate plastic lids).
Taywell Tunbridge Wells opened at the end of November '09 - just in time for Christmas. The owner took delivery of the keys at the start of that month - working to a three to four week time scale to refit the double-fronted premises on two floors.
Torpedo Juice had been working on a marketing strategy three months in advance of opening.
Torpedo Juice has an ongoing marketing and PR contract with Taywell.
Work completed includes:
- Location photoshoots at both the Goudhurst and Tunbridge Wells stores and studio-based product shots
- Packaging and label design
- Logo design and full branding guidelines
- Extensive public relations campaign/feature writing
- Design and development of new Taywell website
- Launch and management of social media marketing via Twitter
- Online marketing campaigns/newsletters
- Concept and design of numerous press advertisements
- Design of marketing materials and instore posters
- Design of signage - for shop exterior, interior and ice cream van
- Concept, design and (some) installation of window displays
- Project management of launch party and balloon race release
